TYPES OF SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION
There are broadly 2 variants of scalp micropigmentation including:
Permanent scalp micropigmentation
This procedure involves permanently inking the scarred area using pigments to hide the residual scars followed by FUT and FUE technique. The pigment is chosen which suits your existing hair color which delivers aesthetic look. The results of scalp micropigmentation stay permanently and you might notice slight change in the strength of color. When you feel the gradual fading you can visit again for recoloring the pigmented areas or a touch up.
Temporary scalp micropigmentation
Temporary scalp micropigmentation is advised when you need to try the look before getting it permanent. If you want to change the look you can get it revised once the pigments fade off. The pigments are removed off overtime by the lymphatic system and the rate of its removal varies from individual to individual which might take months to years.
USES OF SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION
When inexperienced surgeons perform the hair transplant surgery by FUE technique which is a precised procedure it could lead to extensive donor scarring. Including, the lack of knowledge of using appropriate diameter of punch could result in donor scarring. This can be corrected by using scalp micropigmentation which could imitate the growth of hairs over the scarring making it invisible.
BENEFITS OF SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION
Hair loss sufferers who wish to maintain crew cut hair styles like army personnels, sportsman, athletes and others. If they undergo hair transplant and wants to maintain the same hairstyles after procedure it would make the scars visible either with FUT technique or FUE technique.
When density of donor area is depleted due to overharvesting the donor scar followed by the FUE technique becomes more visible. This can be rectified by scalp mcropigmentation which can hide those circular scars at the donor area followed by FUE technique.
